KVK, Malyal organized 3 days Skill Training on “Vermicompost preparation” to Rural Youth under TSP, on 21-23rd March,2022

The training started with inaugural session on 21-03-2022 at KVK, Malyal. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Malyal explained about the need and importance of the programme and suggested the farmers to take up vermicompost preparation on small scale to meet their farm needs and also to start entrepreneurship. Dr. M. Madhu, Scientist (Agronomy), RARS, Warangal participated as resource person and explained about the “Earth worms and their importance” and “Role of earth worms in preparation of organic manure”. On 2nd day (22-03-2022) Dr. E. Rambabu, SMS (Horticulture) conducted Exposure Visit to Teja Vermicompost Unit, Mutthagudem, Khammam district and showed live demonstration to the participants. Sri Rami Reddy, vermicompost entrepreneur acted as resource person and explained about Vermi Unit construction, conditions required for maintenance of earth worms and production expenditure, etc. 3rd day (23-03-2022) sessions were carried out at KVK, Malyal and Dr. R. Srinivasa Rao, SMS (Crop Production), KVK, Badhradri Kothagudem participated as resource person and delivered lecture on “Nutritive value of vermicompost” & “Enemies and problems in vermicompost preparation”. Sri K. Suryanarayana, District Horticulture and Sericulture Officer, Mahabubabad acted as Chief Guest for the valedictory session. In this session, feedback was taken from the trainees. He addressed the farmers to make use of the knowledge gained in the programme. Later, ‘participation certificates’ were distributed to the trainees. KVK, Malyal Programme Coordinator Dr. S. Malathi and Dr. E. Rambabu, SMS (Horticulture), and 30 No.of Rural Youth from 2 TSP Villages (Bheemla thanda of Narsimhulapeta Mandal and Balya thanda of Kuravi Mandal) participated in the programme.
