Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal collaboration with Department of Agriculture, Mahabubabad organized “Awareness cum Technology Demonstration on Dry Direct Seeding in Rice on 25-6-2021

Technology Demonstration cum Awareness Programme on Dry Direct Seeding in Rice was organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal in collaboration with Department of Agriculture, Mahabubabad” at Ramachandru thanda of Peddavangara Mandal in Mahabubabad district on 25-06-2021. KVK, Malyal Scientists acted as resource persons and given technical information about Dry Direct seeding in rice. Sri. B. Kranthi Kumar SMS (Crop Production) explained about the benefits of DDSR, weed management, Fertilizer management in dry direct seeding and Sri. Kumar Yadav MAO, Peddavangara highlighted farmers, opinions and apprehensions in adoption of DDSR. Sri B. Chathru Nayak, DAO, Mahabubabad, Chief Guest of the programme addressed the gathering and appraised the concept of Jalashakthi Abhiyan and paddy growers through this technology can save water. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Malyal, briefed about the need for dry direct seeding in rice and interacted with farmers on the feasibility of adoption of dry direct seeding in the village and clarified that apprehensions on DDS are just a myth. Later, demonstrated sowing using seed cum fertilizer drill in the field of Jatoth Krishna in around 18 acres. In this programme KVK Scientists Dr. N. Kishore Kumar SMS (Extn.), Smt. A. Ramulamma SMS (Plant Protection), AEOs of Danthalapally, Peddavangara and Thorrur, Villge sarpanch, RSS coordinator, and 40 no. of farmers participated.
