Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal organized a farmer training programme on “Management practices, measures to be taken during flowering and fruiting in Mango” at Seethampeta village of Garla Mandal on 05-02-2025. In this programme, Dr. A. Kiran Kumar, Principal Scientist & Head, HRS, Konda Mallepally acted as resource person and explained about water management, pest & disease management in Mango with special emphasis on control of fruit fly followed by top working and rejuvenation of old mango orchards. Dr. E. Rambabu, SMS (Horticulture) explained about fertilizer management, correction of micronutrient deficiencies, flower and fruit drop control in Mango. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator explained about pest and disease management in Mango with special emphasis on control of leaf hopper, thrips and powdery mildew. She requested the participants to form Farmers Producers Organization (FPO) for Mango and export the produce to other countries by using more organic inputs for betterment of soil health as well as fruit quality. She also answered the queries raised by the farmers on varieties of Paddy crop. Sri J. Mariyanna, DHSO, Mahabubabad explained about management practices to be followed in the standing Oil Palm orchards as well as subsidy details in Oil Palm crop to the farmers. Sri M. Ramesh Babu, MD, Green India Organics, Tirumala attended the programme and explained about availability and use of different organic fertilizers in Agriculture and Horticultural crops for improving soil fertility to the farmers. Later, queries raised by farmers on Mango flowering, fruiting and pest & diseases were answered by the experts. Sri K. Ramarao, MAO, Garla, Smt. R. Shanthi Priya, HO, Garla, Smt. AJ Shanthi priyadarshini, HO, Mahabubabad and 48 Mango growing farmers from Garla Mandal participated in the programme.
