KVK, Malyal organized 3 days Skill Training Programme on “Vermicompost production” to Rural Youth from 29th to 31st March, 2022 at KVK, Malyal under ARYA Project, 2021-22. The training started with inaugural session on 29-03-2022 at KVK, Malyal. Dr. N. Kishore Kumar, SMS (Extension), KVK, Malyal explained about the need and importance of the programme. Dr. Ch. Sowmya, SMS (Crop Production), KVK, Mamnoor participated as resource person and explained about the “importance of vermicompost, earth worms in agriculture”, and “role of vermicompost in improving soil fertility status and process of vermicompost development”. On 2nd day (30-03-2022) Smt. D. Usha Sri, SMS (Agromet) conducted Exposure Visit to Teja Vermicompost Unit, Mutthagudem, Khammam district and showed live demonstration to the participants. Sri Rami Reddy, vermicompost entrepreneur acted as resource person and explained about Vermi Unit construction, conditions required for maintenance of earth worms and production expenditure, etc. 3rd day (31-03-2022) sessions were carried out at KVK, Malyal and Sri D. Venkanna, Entrepreneur, Parvatagiri village delivered lecture on “importance of vermi wash and vermicompost production”. Smt. A. Ramulamma, SMS (Plant Protection) explained about “preparation of vermi wash and usage in agriculture”. Feedback was taken from the trainees during valedictory session. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Malyal addressed the farmers to make use of the knowledge gained in the programme and start with small scale production of vermicompost production. Later, ‘participation certificates’ were distributed to the trainees. 30 No.of Rural Youth participated in the programme.
