Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal organized Training programme on Yasangi crops to tribal farmers under DAPST (TSP), 2024-25 at KVK, Malyal on 04-11-2024. Dr. E. Rambabu, SMS (Horticulture) briefed about IPM in Chilli with special emphasis on leaf curl virus and wilt management. Sri B. Kranthi Kumar, SMS (Crop Production) explained about suitable varieties, good management practices in Paddy, Maize, Pulses and Oil seed crops. He also explained about weed management, paired row method and IPM practices for Fall army worm control in Maize. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Malyal suggested farmers to inculcate habit of using sticky traps, Neem oil, Trichoderma and Pseudomonas in Chilli crop for reducing cost of cultivation. She also reiterated IPM practices for Fall army worm control in Maize and IPM practices for control of Leaf curl virus in Chilli. Later, distributed Neem oil @1500 ppm (1 litre), Sticky traps (Yellow, Blue & White colors) (20 no’s in each kit), Trichoderma (1 litre) & Pseudomonas (l litre) under Tribal Sub Plan, 2024-25 to 35 tribal farmer beneficiaries from Ootla village of Gudur Mandal.
