KVK, Mancherial Organized Agriculture and Nutrition - The Way of Tribal Agriculture programme at Ankusham village, Bellampalli mandal

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bellampalli, Mancherial District has organized Awareness Programmes on Agriculture and Nutrition - The Way of Tribal Agriculture; Rejuvenation Techniques in Mango and Parthenium Awareness Week to tribal farmers at Ankusham village, Bellampalli mandal, Mancherial district. In this programme, Dr. M. Rajeshwar Naik, Senior Scientist & Head (Programme Coordinator) has addressed the farmers about the Agriculture and Nutrition in relation to human diet, agricultural development was to provide food “adequate for the health and strength of all people,” food security in agriculture; importance of vegetable crops; importance of IFS. Further, explained about “Rejuvenation Technique” to increase the productivity, to convert the low yielding trees into superior and high yielding trees. Sri. R. Srinivas, DAO, KB Asifabad explained about practice of intercropping and multiple cropping; produce a greater yield on a given piece of land by making use of resources that would otherwise not be utilized by a single crop and also explained management practices of cotton and rice. Dr. I. Thirupathi, SMS (Crop Production) created awareness to the farmers on Integrated parthenium management methods for parthenium eracation and alsoweed management practices to control the weeds efficiently in paddy and cotton. Smt. U. Sravanthi, SMS (Horticulture) explained different methods of rejuvenation, calendar of activities for rejuvenation of old/ unproductive mango orchard, pruning importance and drip and fertigation advantages in mango and importance of home based nutri-gardens. For this programme Sri Indla Raja mogili, Sarpanch, Sri Koppula Bhanu Chandar, deputy sarpanch, Ch. Supraja, H.O (Bellampalli), K. Nagadeepthi, AEO ( Bellampalli), 45 (42-Male and 3- Female) number of farmers were participated.
