Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal organized Field day cum Training programme of Rice varietal cafeteria under PJTSAU-IRRI Collaborative trial on 24.11.2022 at KVK, Malyal. Farmers visited the cafeteria of 24 paddy varieties cultivated at KVK farm under PJTSAU-IRRI Collaborative Project. During this visit, farmers evaluated each variety of cafeteria and gave visual scoring for different parameters. Subsequentto the field visit, a training programme on the concept of the project and about the varieties was conducted. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator explained about performances of paddy cultivars under Mahabubabad conditions. She informed that the cafeteria varieties were developed in different states of India and Bangladesh and farmers can select suitable varieties fo local cultivation as per their choice and requirements.Sri B. Chatru Naik, District Agriculture Officer, Mahabubabad participated as chief guest and addressed the gathering and advised farmers to adopt varieties, technologies disseminated by the KVK scientists and utilize services of KVK for enhancing farm income. During this programme, Dr. Kishore Kumar SMS (Extension), Dr. E. Rambabu SMS (Horticulture), Sri. B. Kranthi kumar SMS (Plant production), M. Akhil Project staff, Sri. K. Rama Rao MAO, Garla, 8 no of AEO’s from Garla and Dornakal mandals and 120 farmers from Mahabubabd District have participated in this programme.
