KVK, Palem and AICRP on FIM jointly organized a demonstration on tractor drawn side shift rotary tiller at Custard apple and Mango orchards located at KVK, Palem on 30.11.2021. Inter cultivation and basin making operations done by manual labour increases the cost of cultivation and time. Tractor operated cultivators and rotavators have limited access to operate or till close to the tress. Tractor drawn side shift rotary tiller allows operating the tiller in areas where tractors have limited access due to their size and also in areas with low-hanging branches of trees. This feature allows the tiller to operate in orchards under and between trees and reduces the cost of cultivation and time. The working model of side shift rotary tiller and cotton picker was demonstrated to the farmers and staff at KVK, Palem for the benefit of the farming community. In this programme, Dr. Ch. Damodar Raju, ADR, RARS, Palem, Er. Sravan Kumar, Scientist, AICRP on FIM, Dr.T.Prabhakar Reddy, PC & staff, KVK, Palem, Agriculture College students and farmers were participated.
