KVK, Palem organized ICAR Foundation day on 16-07-2021

KVK, Palem organized 93rd ICAR-Foundation day at seminar hall of KVK, Palem on 16.07.2021. Dr. T. Prabhakar Reddy, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Palem briefed about the genesis of ICAR and its pivotal role in agriculture development in our country. Though it was established on 16th July 1929 as a registered society under societies registration act. This is one of the largest national agricultural systems in the world with 101 ICAR institutions and 71 agricultural universities spread across the country. In India 55% of rural population depend on agriculture as their livelihood. ICAR played as great role in green revolution and subsequent developments in agriculture in India through its research and technology development. Before the foundation of ICAR, India is at begging bowl condition after establishment of ICAR the fate of Indian agriculture is changed now we are in top position in terms of production of food grains, vegetables and fruits. In this program all the teaching, non teaching staff and farmers were participated.
