KVK, Palem conducted a Diagnostic Field visit in yasangi maize, groundnut and blackgram fields at Nandi Waddeman (V), Bijinepally (M), Nagarkurnool (D) on 28.12.2024. Maize crop is at Vegetative stage, observed severe Pink stem borer (Sesamia inference) above ETL -4-5 lavae per stem/plant observed tunnelling, rotting of stem tissue, foul smell and dead hearts. Observed FAW (above ETL)-1-2 larvae per whorl. Suggested to spray with chlorantraniliprole (Coragen) @ 60 ml/acre. Groundnut crop is at pod formation stage and observed severe tikka leaf spot (9 score), suggested to spray with Chlorothalonil (Kavach) @ 400 g/acre. Blackgram crop is at vegetative stage (30 Days old) observed sucking pests (thrips and white fly) and YMV (initial stage) suggested to spray with Acetamaprid (Pride) @ 40 g/acre and installation of Yellow sticky traps @ 10 per acre. In this visit Dr. O. Shaila, SMS (PP), KVK, Palem and 5 farmers were participated.
