KVK, Palem organized farmer scientists interface program on 31-05-2022

KVK, Palem organized farmer scientists interface program, PM-Kissan 11th installment amount disbursement and webcasted of honorable prime minister interaction with the beneficiaries of the various central government schemes at Auditorium of RARS, Palem on 31.05.2022. The program was chaired by Sri. S. Mothillal (Additional collector, Nagarkurnool). In this programme Dr.M. Sujatha (i/c ADR, RARS, Palem), Dr. B. Pushavathi (Associate dean, AGC, Palem), Sri. M. Venkateshwarlu (DAO, NGKL), Dr. Afifa Jahan (SMS-H.Sc.), and Sri. Rameshwar reddy (MPTC, Shersawada) have participated. Dr.M. Sujatha (i/c ADR, RARS, Palem), welcomed the participants and arranged a live webcast of the Honorable Prime Minister's interaction with the beneficiaries of the various central government schemes including PM-KISSAN. Presented best management practices in oilseed crops. Sri. S. Mothillal (Additional collector, Nagarkurnool) suggested to farmers utilize the input subsidy amount only for the purchasing of quality seeds and other critical inputs of agriculture. Dr. Pushavathi (Associate dean, AGC, Palem) stressed on the importance of seed & soil treatment to reduce the incidence of seed & soil-borne diseases in the field & horticultural crops. Spoken about the cost reduction technologies, and the importance of mechanization in agriculture. Dr. Afifa Jahan (SMS-H.Sc.) presented on various central government schemes and its role in the development of socio-economic conditions of the farmers. Dr. M. Parimal (Scientist-Agro) delivered a lecture on best management practices in HDPS-Cotton, Dr. Eshwar reddy (Scientist-Breeding) delivered on best management practices in Pulses, Dr. Vijayalaxmi (Scientist-Soil science) delivered on green manure crops. After that farmer scientist interaction was done farmers raised questions on micronutrient deficiency & sucking pests incidence suggested suitable IPM practices and informed them all the IPM critical inputs are available at KVK, Palem. In this program all the Scientists of KVK, RARS, DAATTC, AGC, and Palem, a total of 527 farmers and department officials have participated.
