KVK Palem organized a field day in groundnut under cluster front line demonstration for Rabi Oilseeds sponsored by National Food Security Mission for the year 2021-22 at Khanapur village of Bijinepally Mandal, Nagarkurnool district on 01.02.2022. The CFLD on Groundnut has been taken up in 3 clusters namely Khanapur (22 no), Manthati (16 no.) and Nallavelly (12 no.). Dr. M. Govardhan, ADR, RARS Palem inspected the groundnut CFLD fields and interacted with the farmers about varietal performance of Groundnut varieties and briefed about integrated crop management practices influencing the yield of groundnut. Dr.T. Prabhakhar Reddy, PC, KVK, Palem explained the role of each input in enhancing the yield levels in groundnut crop. It is clearly told that seed treatment and timely operations and management of fields were helped for the increased the yields in the farmers field. CFLD i/c Dr.B.Rajashekar SMS (Extension), given brief information on the critical inputs provided under CFLD-Groundnut to the farmers per acre are- Pendimithalin 1 lt.,Imazythapyr 250ml, Trichodema viride 1000 gr, Neem Oil 1 lt, 19.19.19 1 Kg and Emmamectin benzoate 100grams and organized Crop Cutting Experiment to (5x5) was taken up to estimate the yield and performance of Groundnut. Dr. Ram Reddy, Scientist (Plant Breeder) RARS, Palem explained about various groundnut varieties characteristic, procedure followed in selection of quality seeds and importance of seed production and seed chain linkages at farmers level. Mr.M.Rajashekhar (Plant Protection) addressed about importance of seed & soil treatment, Pheromone traps to monitor the incidence of pests in Groundnut crops and critical inputs to enhancing the yields of the crops Smt. K. Mamatha Scientist (Agronomy), RARS, Palem explained about benefits of timely practicing of best management practices entire crop period with ICM mode. Mr. K. Ramakrishna, SMS (Crop Production) discussed about best agronomic practices for higher yields of groundnut. Smt. Sharada, AEO, Khanapur village and sarpanch and village representatives and 72 farmers were participated in the programme.
