KVK, Palem organized Diagnostic field visit of Maize crop at Khanapur Village on 18.11.2022

KVK, Palem scientists have visited maize fields at Khanapur village on 18.11.2022. The crop is at 30 days old stage; weed free with good plant population. However, the crop is severely infested with Fall Army Worm. Farmers have already taken up spraying with Emamectin benzoate @ 0.4 g/lit water. Dr. T. Prabhakar Reddy, PC, KVK palem addressed the farmers to take up best management practices to gain good yields. Dr. O. Shaila, SMS (PP), KVK, Palem suggested the farmers to take up another spray with chlorantraniliprole @ 0.4 ml/lit water if the FAW infestation is high. Dr. B. Rajashekar, SMS (Agril Extn) interacted with the farmers regarding the cost of cultivation, difficulties facing during the cultivation and explained how it can be rectified. For this programme, Mr. M. Praveen Kumar, PA (Lab), KVK, Palem and 13 farmers have participated.
