KVK, Palem organized Field Day on Pink Boll Worm (PBW) Management in Cotton under external funded Network project on Insecticide Resistance Management (IRM): Dissemination of Pink bollworm Management strategies at Khanapur village of Bijinepally mandal on 19.11.2022. The program was chaired by Dr. T. Prabhakar Reddy, KVK Palem stressed on importance of IRM project, best management methods of pink bollworm and Mating disruption technologies and stressed on INM & IWM practices. Dr. O. Shaila, SMS (Plant Protection) KVK Palem explained the Integrated Pest Management of PBW. Insisted to farmers take up the need based and ETL based sprayings of harmful pesticides. Avoid the indiscriminate and calendar based spraying operations. Suggested installation of pheromone traps and usage of PBW gel (For mating disruption technology). After that farmers raised the questions about the pest & diseases experts advised need based operations. Farmers felt very happy for implemented above program and they witnessed to future adoption in large. In this programme Venkataiah, gram Sarpanch, innovative farmers, Sharada (AEO), Scientists of KVK, Palem, Gouthami, Young professional, RAWEP students and a total of 67 farmers have participated.
