KVK, Palem conducted FLD on fruit fly management in Mango and OFT on hopper management in Mango at Machinenipally (V), Kollapur(M), Nagarkurnool(Dist.) on 23.01.2024. Dr. Adhi Shankar, SMS(Hort.) Distributed Inputs - ME Fruit fly traps, pesticide (Thiomethaxam and fungicides (Carbendazim+Mancoze to selected farmers. Demonstrated fruit fly traps installation, poison bait preparation, fruit bagging for fruit fly control. Demonstrated spraying of Thiomethaxam @0.3g + Azadiractin (1500ppm) @ 5ml per litre of water at the flowering and fruiting stage for effective control of Mango hoppers. Also advised to spray COC@3g/L or Carbendazim+Mancizeb@2g/L to control secondary infection of sooty mold disease in mango. Fruit borer damage observed in Mango and Guava and recommend to spray Profinofos@ 2ml/L or Emamectin benzoate@ 0.4g/L or Chloranthraniliprol@ 0.3ml/ L at the marble stage of the fruit. In this programme Dr. Adhi Shankar, SMS(Hort.), Dr. O.Shaila, SMS(Crop protection), Rajesh, Yong professional of the KVK, Palem, Nagarkurnool Dist and 6 farmers were participated.
