KVK, Palem organized Kissan mela cum agricultural exhibition on 07.06.2022

KVK, Palem and RAWEP students of Rajendranagar organized Kissan Mela cum agricultural exhibition at KVK, Palem on 07.06.2022. In this program Dr. M.Sujatha, (PS-Oil seeds), Dr. Pushavathi (Associate dean, AGC, Palem), Dr. T. Prabhakar Reddy (PC), Sri. M. Venkanna (ADA, NGKL) were participated. The program was started with the inauguration of Kisan Mela cum agricultural exhibition by Dr. M.Sujatha, (PS-Oil seeds). The RAWEP students displayed various exhibits pertaining to the latest technologies like drip with mulching, vertical garden, segregation tanks, percolation tanks, rainwater harvesting structures, HDPS-Cotton, integrated pest management, soil sample collection & analysis, sericulture, mushrooms, value addition and polyhouse cultivation of vegetables, etc. The PC, KVK, Palem welcomed the participants and briefed them about the RAWEP student's activities & other method demonstrations executed in their villages. Presented best management practices in HDPS-Cotton, usage of phosphorus solubilizing bacteria, and green manuring. Dr. M. Sujatha (Principal scientist-Oil seeds, RARS, Palem) presented on the importance of oil seed crops and best management practices. Dr. Pushavathi (Associate dean, AGC, Palem) stressed on the selection of pest & disease resistance varieties, seed & soil treatment to reduce the seed & soil-borne diseases. Dr. A. Shankar (SMS-Horti) presented on oil palm cultivation, Mr.M. Rajashekhar (SMS-PP) presented IPM practices in Vanakalam crops, Mr.K. Ramakrishna (SMS-CP) presented weed management in paddy. In this program all the Scientists of KVK, RARS, DAATTC, AGC, Palem, 29 RAWEP students a total of 115 farmers and department officials have participated.
