KVK, Palem Organized Kissan Mela Cum Agricultural Exhibition on 25-03-2023 at Madharam Village

KVK, Palem and RAWEP students of College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar & Agriculture college, Palem organized Kissan Mela cum Agricultural exhibition at Madharam village of Urkonda mandal of Nagarkurnool dist. on 25.03.2023. In this program Dr. M. Malla Reddy, ADR, RARS, Palem, Dr. C. Narendra Reddy, Associate Dean, COA, R, Nagar, Dr. B. Pushpavathi, Associate Dean, Agril, College, Palem, Dr. T. Prabhakar Reddy, PC, KVK, Palem and innovative farmers of madharam village were participated. The program was started with the inauguration of Kisan Mela cum Agricultural exhibition by Dr. C. Narendra Reddy, Associate Dean,The RAWEP students displayed various exhibits pertaining to the latest technologies like drip with mulching, vertical garden, segregation tanks, percolation tanks, rainwater harvesting structures, HDPS-Cotton, Millets cultivation, Drone technology, sub Surface irrigation technology, soil sample procedure and testing, Integrated farming systems, integrated pest management, soil sample collection & analysis, sericulture, mushrooms, value addition and polyhouse cultivation of vegetables, etc. Dr. M. Malla Reddy, ADR, RARS, Palem addressed on innovative techniques infarming, best management practices in crops and high yields from crops with low cost of cultivation and value addition in millets and oil seeds crops. Dr.C. Narendra Reddy, Associate Dean, briefed about integrated pest management practices in Rabi crops, timely operations in field and low cost management techniques. Dr. Pushpavathi (Associate dean, AGC, Palem) stressed on the selection of pest & disease resistance varieties, seed & soil treatment to reduce the seed & soil-borne diseases. The PC, KVK, Palem welcomed the participants and briefed them about the RAWEP student's activities & other method demonstrations executed in their villages and presented Yansangi crops best management practices in rabi crops, soil testing importance and usage and green manuring. Dr. B. Rajashekar, SMS(Agril. Extension) explained about various ICT tools in agriculture and media channels to get instant information. Dr. A. Shankar (SMS-Horti) presented on Chilli and other vegetables, Dr. O. Shaila (SMS-PP) presented IPM practices in Rabi crops. In this program all the Scientists of KVK, AGC, Palem, 51 RAWEP students, Village representatives a total of 242 farmers and department officials have participated.
