KVK, Palem organized National Farmer’s Day - 2023 and Viksit Bharath Sankalp Yathra at Khanapur village, Bijinepally Mandal, Nagarkurnool District on 23.12.2023. Mrs. E. Jyoshna SMS (Home Science) congratulated and highlighted the role of farmers and farm women and their significant contributions to the nation and also stressed upon the winter nutritional care of farmers, farm women (specially expecting, lactating mothers), adolescent girls and kids. Dr. A. Shankar, SMS (Hort.) highlighted that each and every famer must aware of what are all the schemes available by the government of India to the farmers and best utilization of the resources and stressed upon the farmer groups in order to adopt the new technologies and community action and VBSY Activities. Further, encouraged the farmers to focus more on cultivation of vegetables and fruits in the village. Mr. K. Ramakrishna SMS (CP) Emphasized on the best management practices in rabi crops viz., Maize, paddy, groundnut. Dr. O. Shaila, SMS (PP) discussed on the integrated pests and diseases management in yasangi crops. Finally, there was a group discussion between farmers and scientists where discussed on current problems facing in various crops and difficulties of farm women and needful advisories were made by the SMS team, KVK, Palem. In this programme Mrs. E. Jyoshna, SMS (Home Science), Dr. A. Shankar, SMS (Hort), Dr. O. Shaila, SMS (PP), Mr.K. Ramakrishna SMS (CP), M. Rajesh Kumar (YP I), B. Harish (YP I), KVK, Palem, farmers & farm women a total of 46 members were participated.
