KVK, Palem organized training programme on Pink bollworm management by using Artificial Intelligence (AI) based solution in Cotton on 20.07.02021 at seminar hall of RARS, Palem. The programme was planned in collaborative mode with department of agriculture Nagarkurnool dist. and wadhwani institute for Artificial intelligence (WIAI). The programme was chaired by Dr. Ch. Damodar Raju, ADR, RARS, Palem stresses the importance of AI in pest management for timely monitoring & management of Pink bollworm in Cotton. Dr.T. Prabhakar Reddy, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Palem explained on integrated nutrient management and package of practices for Cotton cultivation. Sreenivasa Rao in-charge of Wadhwani group demonstrated the mobile app usage, farmer’s data entry and pheromone traps installation to all the department officials. Wadhwani AI is a nonprofit organization and is giving the solutions free for the cotton farmers of the state. The farmers could increase their incomes by about 20-30% by adopting the advisories issued by the PJTSAU University, department of agriculture through this AI based pest management system. Mr. M. Rajashekhar (SMS-PP) spoken about the sucking pests management in Cotton. In this programme Dr. Sujatha (PS-Oil seeds) Venkateshwarlu, DAO-Nagarkurnool, 4-ADAs, 20- MAOs and 20 members AEOs participated.
