KVK, Palem organized Rythu Sadassu cum Agriculture Exhibition on 28-12-2021

Rythu sadassu cum Agriculture exhibition was organized by RAWEP students in collaboration with KVK, Palem at KVK premises on 28-12-2021. Dr.Sujatha, (PS-Oil seeds and I/C of Associate Director of Research, Southern Telangana Zone), Sri.M.Venkateswarlu, DAO, Nagarkurnool, Sri. G.V. Ramesh (District Animal Husbandry officer), Sri. Laxmappa (District Fisheries Officer), Dr.T.Prabhakar Reddy, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Palem and Dr. Ramakrihsna baabu (DAATTC, Palem) are the chief guests of the programme. DAO & PS-Oil seeds inaugurated the Exhibition stalls and visited the models prepared by the students and appreciated their efforts. Students displayed and explained the concepts, themes in brief of new innovative agricultural technologies. The students arranged about 22 models as a part of the Agriculture exhibition which includes Integrated farming system, Types of mulching, Alternate wetting and Drying in Rice, Solar bore well pumping, Rain water harvesting, Waste management, IPM in Rice etc. Around 485 number of farmer's from different villages have utilized the opportunity and visited the exhibition models. Dr.T.Prabhakar Reddy, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Palem explained about soil health management and fertilizer application in Yasangi crops. Briefed about the alternate crops to Paddy and income generation methods in field & horticultural crops. Dr.M.Sujatha, Principle Scientist (Oil Seeds) discussed about best management practices in Groudnut & Sesamum. Dr. Ramakrishna baabu, (DAATTC, Palem) and Mr. M. Rajashekhar (SMS-PP) explained about the IPM practices in Yasangi crops. Stressed more on need based pesticides spraying based on the ETLs. All the district officers appreciated the efforts of students and KVK, Palem for organizing Rythu sadassu. Scientists interacted with farmers on the issues of emerging problems like labour scarcity and mechanization. At last, the programme was concluded with the vote of thanks by B.Rajashekhar, SMS (AE), KVK, Palem.
