KVK, Palem organized Rythu Sadassu cum Agriculture Exhibition on 08-01-2021

Rythu sadassu cum Agriculture exhibition was organized by RAWEP students in collaboration with KVK, Palem at KVK premises on 08-01-2020. Dr.Ch.Damodar Raju, Associate Director of Research, Southern Telangana Zone, Sri.M.Venkateswarlu, DAO, Nagarkurnool, Dr.M.Sujatha, Principle Scientist (Oil Seeds), Dr.Susheela, Associate Dean i/c, Agriculture College, Palem and Dr.T.Prabhakar Reddy, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Palem are the chief guests of the programme. ADR inaugurated the Exhibition stalls and visited the models prepared by the students and appreciated their efforts. Students displayed and explained the concepts, themes in brief of new innovative agricultural technologies. The students arranged about 32 models as a part of the Agriculture exhibition which includes Integrated farming system, Types of mulching, Alternate wetting and Drying in Rice, Solar bore well pumping, Rain water harvesting, Waste management, IPM in Rice etc. Around 350 number of farmer's from different villages have utilized the opportunity and visited the exhibition models. Dr.M.Parimal Kumar, Scientist (Agronomy) explained about the different rice cultivation methods alternate to manual transplanting. Dr.G.Sheshu, Scientist (Plant Breeding) briefed about best management practices in groundnut. Dr.M.Sujatha, Principle Scientist (Oil Seeds) discussed about best management practices in sesamum. Dr.S.Maheswaramma, Scientist (Plant Breeding) briefed about best management practices in millet crops. Dr.T.Prabhakar Reddy, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Palem explained about soil health management and fertilizer application in Yasangi crops. Dr. Ch. Damodar Raju, ADR, RARS, Palem appreciated the efforts of students and KVK, Palem for organizing Rythu sadassu. He interacted with farmers on the issues of emerging problems like labour scarcity and mechanization. At last, the programme was concluded with the vote of thanks by M.Rajashekhar, SMS (Plant Protection), KVK, Palem.
