KVK, Palem conducted a Training on Programme on Need and Importance of Maternal Nutritional care to the ANM's & ASHA Workers at PHC-Palem village, Bijinepally mandal, Nagarkurnool dist. on 19.10.2023. Mrs.E.Jyoshna, SMS(HSc), KVK, Palem Explained about the risk factors of Non Communicable Diseas in pregnency ( Gestational Diabetes, Obesity/ overweight and Hypertension). Discussed about the non modifiable risk factors like age, Sex and Family History. Modifiable risk factors like unhealthy diet (high fat, sugar & salt content and low fruit, vegetables & dietary fibre intake, Physical inactivity, tobacco use and harmful alcohol usage) and also explained about intermediate risk factors like hypertension, impaired blood glucose levels, Hyperlipidemia, overweight/Obesity. Suggested suitable dietary guidelines and emphasized about the role of healthy diet and adoption of Food pyramid based on locally available foods with existed dietary habbits. In this training Mrs.E.Jyoshna, SMS(HSc), KVK, Palem, Mr. B. Rajeshwar (MPHEO) PHC Palem, Mrs. K. Sujatha (PHC Supervisor ) and 10 ANM's 20 ASHA Workers total 38 members were participated.
