KVK, Palem organized Training Programme on Importance of Balanced diet to Adolescent Age group at Diet Counselling Centre, KVK- Palem, Palem village, Bijinepally mandal, Nagarkurnool district on 06.12.2024. During the training, Dr. T. Prabhakar Reddy, program coordinator, KVK, Palem addressed the adolescents about the necessity of consuming a balanced diet to maintain good health. Mrs. E. Jyoshna SMS (HSC), KVK, explained about the role of balanced diet which is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, whole grains and antioxidants significant for brain development and improved concentration, memory, problem solving skills which is essential for academic performance. Emphasised about the diverse diet ensures to get all the essential nutrients to prevent the risk of deficiencies like iron deficiency anemia, calcium deficiency, and vitamin deficiencies. Highlighted the significance of encouraging a positive relationship with food can develop a healthy eating habit during adolescence reduces the risk of obesity, eating disorders and degenerative diseases like diabetes and hypertension later in life. Described how teenagers frequently participate in extracurricular activities and sports. The constant energy required for their hectic schedules is provided by a balanced diet which composed by recommended amount of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. In this Training Dr. T. Prabhakar Reddy, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Palem, Mrs. E. Jyoshna, SMS(HSc), KVK, Palem and 36 Adolescents were participated.
