KVK, Palem organized Training cum Awareness Programme on Dry Direct Seeded Rice to AEOs & AOs in collaboration with Dept of Agriculture, Nagarkurnool District on 30-06-2021 at RARS, Auditorium

KVK, Palem organized awareness programme on Dry Direct Seeded Rice to AEOs & AOs in collaboration with Dept of Agriculture, Nagarkurnool District on 30.06.2021 at RARS, Auditorium. The programme was organized under the guidance of Dr. Ch. Damodar Raju, ADR, RARS, Palem along with the KVK scientists. He stressed about importance of direct seeding method in terms of labour use, water use, duration of crop and production cost. Sri.M. Venkateswarlu, DAO, Nagarkurnool emphasized about cost reduction technologies in paddy. Dr.M.Sujata, PS (Oil seeds) stressed about importance of oil seed crops in crop diversification for sustaining crop productivity. Dr. K.Vijaya Lakshmi, AD- AGC, Palem stressed about constraints and advantages in direct seeded rice. Dr. T. Prabhakar Reddy, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Palem Created awareness through Power Point presentation on direct seeded technologies (dry seeding and wet seeding) and discussed about advantages and problems of different rice methods viz. Drum seeder, Seed cum ferti drill and broadcasting. He also briefed Phosphorus management through PSB bio-fertilizer. Dr.K.Sreeder, Scientist (Agro.) explained about weed management in direct seeded technologies. In this programme, 140 AEOs and 20 AOs, 4 ADAs and KVK staff were participated.
