KVK, Palem organized a Training programme on ‘High Density Planting System (HDPS)’ at KVK, Palem on 03.10.2023

A training programme on High Density Planting System (HDPS) has organized at KVK, Palem on 03.10.2023, and the programme is chaired by Dr. M. Malla Reddy, Associate Director of Research, RARS, Palem. Dr. M. Malla Reddy, Associate Director of Research, RARS, Palem emphasized on impact of fluctuations in weather conditions on agriculture, cultivation of short duration cotton varieties so that farmers can cultivate Cotton followed by oil seeds or pulse crops. Dr. T. Prabhakar Reddy, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Palem made the opening remarks and explained about the technology, area sown particulars in various clusters of Nagarkurnool district, gaps identified in farmers fields in implementing the technology during the visits. Interacted with the farmers and stressed upon the nutrient management and canopy management at various stages of the crop. Dr. Ch. Bharath Bhushan Rao, Coordinator, DAATTC, Palem, highlighted the best suited soils for HDPS cultivation and weed management practices. Dr. M. Ramakrishna Babu, Head, AICRP on Biological control emphasized the importance of biological control agents in various crops and their availability. Dr. O. Shaila, SMS (PP) explained the IPDM practices in HDPS cotton. There was a farmers scientist interaction and clarified the farmers questionnaires. In this Training Dr. M. Pushpalatha (YP I), Private Seed company staff and 84 farmers from Achampet, Vangoor, Telkapally, Charagonda clusters a Total of 129 members were participated.
