KVK, Palem organized a Training programme on Integrated crop management in Tomato & Diagnostic field visit at Cherla Thirumalapur (V), Nagarkurnool(M), Nagar kurnool dist. on 13.10.2023. Dr. Adhi Shankar, SMS (Horticulture), KVK, Palem given Training on Nursery management, seedling dip method, integrated nutrient management, integrated pest and disease management. Explained special operations like drip and mulching systems, biofertilizer application, and fertigation techniques and trellies method to enhance yield potential and reduce the cost of cultivation. Farmer-scientist interaction held at the end of the session and given solutions to farmers' queries about chilli crop. Diagnostic field visited to the chilli farmers of the village. The Team identified coller rot and suggested drenching of Carbendazim+ Mancozeb 2.5 g/L or Ridimil Mz@ 2.5g/L to avoid collar rot and wilt complex and avoid excess moisture conditions in the fields. Visited to sri parvatalu and other 5 chilli fields and found chilli leaf cur virus. The Team have suggested to rough out infested plants and control of sucking pest by spraying Imidacloprid @ 0.3ml/L or Thiomethaxam@ 0.3g/ L followed by spraying micro nutri mix 5g/L and multik@5g/L twice at 10 days interval to induce new growth.nematode infestation in the nursery and main field. In this training Dr. Adhi Shankar, SMS (Horticulture), KVK, Palem, Smt Maheswari, Horticulture officer, Mani chandar, AEO, Sri. Dasharatam, Dy. Sarpanch, Sri.B. Laxmaiah, MPTC and 30 vegetable growers of Cherla Thirumalapur village were participated.
