KVK, Palem organized training cum method demonstration program and inaugurated external funded Network project on Insecticide Resistance Management (IRM): Dissemination of Pink bollworm Management strategies at Khanapur village of Bijinepally mandal on 19.08.2022. The program was chaired by Dr. Y. G. Prasad ( Director, ICAR-CICR, Nagpur) stressed on importance of IRM project, best management methods of pink bollworm and Mating disruption technologies. Dr. V. Sudharani ( Director of Extension, PJTSAU) Spoken about the HDPS- Cotton and role of extension strategies to dessiminate IPM practices in a large scale. Dr. M. Goverdan ( ADR, RARS, Palem) highlighted the cotton cultivation practices suggested to farmers go for spilt application of fertilizeds. Dr. Chinababu Naik ( Senior Scientist, ICAR- CICR, Nagpur) presented the integrated pest management of PBW. Insisted to farmers take up the need based and ETL based sprayings of harmful pesticides. Avoid the indiscriminate and calendar based spraying operations. Suggested installation of pheromone traps and usage of PBW gel ( For mating disruption technology ). Dr. T. Prabhakar Reddy ( PC, KVK, Palem) briefed about the program and stressed on INM & IWM practices. After that farmers raised the questions about the pest & diseases experts advised need based operations. Farmers felt very happy and they said that they will implement all the treatments as per the scientists guidance. After that practically demonstrated on usage of Natmare Gel in fatmers fields and distributed gels to fatmers. In this meeting Dr. Ramakrishna baabu (Coordinator DAATTC, Palem) Sri. Venkateshwarlu ( DAO, NGKL), Sri. Ramesh babu ( ADA, NGKL), Dr. Vijay Reddy ( Private representative ), Heena ( AEO), Scientists of KVK, Palem, RAWEP students and a total of 86 farmers have participated.
