KVK, Palem organized a training Programme on Food and nutrition for the farmers on 26-08-2021

To commemorate the monumental occasion of 75th anniversary of India’s Independence and celebrating the occasion as “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, KVK, Palem organized a training Programme on Food and nutrition for the farmers on 26.08.2021 at Nallavelly village of Nagarkurnool mandal. The programme was chaired by Dr. Ch. Damodar Raju, ADR, RARS, Palem briefed about the importance of nutritional security among the farming community. Nutrition security goes beyond food security by considering the nutritional value of food and the systemic factors that determine an individual’s nutritional status. Dr. T. Prabhakhar Reddy (PC, KVK, Palem) addressed the farmers about the Under nutrition, malnutrition and increasingly over nutrition are still pressing issue in many developing countries. Promoting nutrition security offers several opportunities to stimulate economic and pro-poor development in cost-efficient ways. After that a group discussion was organized on crop seasonal conditions farmers raised the issues and scientists suggested suitable management methods. In this programme Ramesh babu (ADA-Nagarkurnool) & Narmada (MAO-Nagarkurnool) presented the raithu bandu, raithu bheema and other agriculture department programmes. In this programme Dr. Sheshu (Scientist), K.Mamatha (Scientist), Mr. M. Rajashekhar(SMS-PP), Dr.A.Shankar, SMS (Horticulture), Chandrashekhar reddy (RSS-Cordinator), Sudhakar Reddy (Sarpanch Nallavelly), AEOs and 82 farmers were participated.
