KVK, Palem organized world pulses day programme on 10-02-2021

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) & Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS), palem jointly organized world pulses day at Seminar hall of RARS, Palem. This year the theme of the day is “Nutritious Seeds for a Sustainable Future.” It is a well-known fact that pulses have highly nutritious properties and are a very important part of a healthy diet for humans. The programme was chaired by Dr. Ch. Domadar raju (ADR) addressed the farmers about the importance of pulses cultivation for nutritional security and sustainable agriculture. Dr. Sujatha (PS-oilseeds) briefed about the good practices of pulses cultivation. Dr. T. Prabhakhar Reddy (PC, KVK, Palem) enlightened the farmers about the cultivation of Greengram crop preceding to Rice crop and role of other pulse crops for soil nutrient enrichment. Briefed about the NFSM-Pulses seed hub project for indigenous pulses production enhancement. Dr. Ramakrishna babu (Coordinator, DAATTC, Palem) explained about the pests & disease management in pulse crops. In this programme Scientists of KVK, Palem i.e. Mr.M. Rajashekhar, K. Ramakrishna, Dr. Adhi Shankar, Dr. Afifa Jahan, Scientists of RARS, Palem i.e. G. Neelima, Mr. Ramesh, Dr. Sreedhar, Dr. Archana and a total 56 farmers were participated
