KVK, Wyra - Minikits field visit on 06.11.2023

KVK, Wyra has organized field visit to Paddy minikits along with RARS scientists Dr. B. Satish Chandra and Dr. Y. Hari and KVK scientists including Dr. Jessie Suneetha W, SMS (Home Science), Smt. PSM. Phanisri, SMS (Extension) and Dr. D. Nagaraju, SMS (Agromet). The minikits visited were WGL-1380, WGL-1537 and WGL-1246. The present crop was in grain hardening to harvesting stage. All the minikits showed less incidence of BLB, BPH, Panicle mite and Sheath blight. All the varieties visited short duration with 120-135 days. WGL-1246 and WGL-1380 are medium slender grains suitable for kharif season where as WGL-1537 is long slender grain suitable for both kharif and rabi. WGL-1380 and WGL-1537 have good cooking quality.
