Legal Awareness Camp on Various Acts, Women Rights and Violence Against Women on 10.11.2022

RARS, Palem in collaboration with Mandal Legal Service Committee, Nagarkurnool has organized a legal awaremess programme on the women rights, acts against violence on women at Auditorium, RARS, Palem on 10.11.2022. Dr.M.Goverdhan, Associate Director of Research, STZ, RARS, Palem in his welcome address explained the mandates of PJTSAU and highlighted the importance of awareness among the students, staff of university on legal issues relating to women rights, acts on violence against women as women occupy considerable proportion of students and staff. Sri. M.Srinivas Gupta, President Bar association, Nagarkurnool explained the main objectives of the awareness programme. Mrs. G.Sabitha, Senior Civil judge, Nagarkurnool and Smt. K.Swarupa, Principal Junior Civil Judge, Nagarkurnool explained about the need and the legal options available to women on their rights and violence against them. Sri. D.Rajesh Babu, Hon’ble District Judge, Nagarkurnool explained about the Mandal legal services committee which can be contacted for any legal help before approaching the courts for justice. He also stressed the need for awareness on the legal rights and procedures in the judiciary for timely justice. Dr.B.Pushpavathi, Associate Dean, Agricultural College, Palem expressed that all the participants have benefited from the awareness programme and that students have inspired from the programme. Later, ADR, RARS, Palem felicitated the speakers. In this awareness programme, Dr.M.Sujatha, Principal Scientist (Oilseeds), Dr.M.Anuradha, Principal, APT, Palem, scientific staff from RARS, Palem, teaching faculty and students from Agricultural College, Palem, APT, Palem have participated.
