Soil health is very important to produce healthy crops that in turn fulfil nutritional requirement of human beings and animals. This soil health is directly connected to the food quality and quantity as soils supply essential nutrients, water, oxygen and root support to plants to make them grow healthy and flourish. The decomposers like fungi, bacteria, invertebrates like worms and insects have the ability to break down dead organisms into smaller particles and create new compounds that help to restore the natural nutrient cycle through controlled composting. They are the link that keeps the circle of life in motion. The foliar spraying of waste decomposer controlled all type of bacterial, fungal and viral diseases effectively in different crops. Farmers can do farming with the use of waste decompose without using chemical fertilizer and pesticides. The need of urea, DAP or MOP decreased when waste decomposer is applied. In this context, KVK, Wyra organised method demonstration on preparation of waste decomposer under swachhata by scientists Dr. Jessie Suneetha W, Dr. V. Chaitanya and Mrs. P. S. M. Phanisri to farmers. They were informed about the benefits of using the waste decomposer as it not only accelerates the decomposition of organic waste but also boosts plant growth, increases disease resistance and enriches the soil with essential nutrients. The use of waste decomposer in rice fields helped farmers to get relatively higher yields, reduced the input cost and use of chemical fertilizers that improved the profitability of rice cultivation.
