MoU between PJTSAU and Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education - Institute of Forest Biodiversity (ICFRE-IFB), Hyderabad at Admin Office, on PJTSAU 25-05-2023

Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education - Institute of Forest Biodiversity (ICFRE-IFB), Hyderabad, (Dulapally) has entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU), Rajendranagar. The MoU papers signed by Dr. S. Sudheer Kumar, Registrar, PJTSAU and E. Venkat Reddy, Director, IFB on 25th May evening at the University Administrative office in the presence of university officers of PJTSAU, staff of AICRP on Agro forestry and Institute of Forest Biodiversity. Dr. B. Jamuna Rani, Director International programs, PJTSAU has gave a brief introduction about importance of MoU between IFB and PJTSAU, which is highly useful for fostering research and extension in agro forestry for promotion of agri biodiversity in Telangana state. Dr. A.V. Ramanjaneyulu, Principal Scientist & Head, Agro forestry gave a brief account of the need for the MoU and collaborative areas for research and extension between PJTSAU and IFB. All the University officers and director of research expressed their views about how this partnership between the two institutes will go a long way in leveraging opportunities arising out of cross-institutional relevance. Dr. S. Sudheer Kumar, Registrar, PJTSAU and Sri. E. Venkat Reddy, Director, IFB exchanged their views on need of collaboration and also discussed about the main objectives of the MOU i.e., Exchange of scientific resources, germplasm and breeding material, scientific literature, information and methodologies. Collaborative research projects in development of sustainable and profitable agro forestry models for conservation and promotion of agri biodiversity. Joint research projects in the areas of climate change, carbon sequestration, conservation & promotion of agri biodiversity and research guidance for Post Graduate and PhD students. Further, it also carried out professional development Programs for students and academicians of both the Institutes. As part of this MoU, capacity building programs for the benefit of farmers, forest officials and other stake holders will be organized. This MoU also felicitate to work on high value agro forestry tree species for degradable lands of Telangana State. The MoU will be valid for a period of 8years and may be extended if necessary.
