National Conference on "Use of Fly Ash in Agriculture, Forestry and other Applications" from 17-18 th December, 2019 at PJTSAU, Hyderabad.

There is a need to have the second Fly Ash mission in the country for more and better utilization of Fly Ash in Agriculture, Forestry and other purposes said the former Director of IIT New Delhi Prof. V.S. Raju here at Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU), Hyderabad on 17th December 2019. Prof Raju along with the Registrar PJTSAU Dr S Sudheer Kumar, Founder Mission Director, Fly Ash Mission Dr Vimal Kumar, Former Director, NAARM & Emeritus Scientist PJTSAU Dr D Ramarao, ADG, CPWD RK Kaushal had inaugurated the two day National Conference on "Use of Fly Ash in Agriculture, Forestry and other Applications" at University Auditorium in Rajendranagar. Speaking at the inaugural session as chief guest Dr Raju has told that, with the efforts of the agricultural scientists and farmers in the country, India has achieved self sufficiency in the food grain production which solves ship to mouth situation to self sufficiency in agricultural production, for achieving this, we are all thankful to them he added. Dr Raju has emphasized that, due to the efforts of the First Fly Ash mission in the country which contributes to increase the use of fly ash for construction and other purposes from 1 million ton to 160 million tons he said. There is a tremendous need of major use of fly ash in Agriculture and Forestry he said. To increase of fly ash utilization for Agriculture and Forestry, we must educate the farmers about the uses of the ash said Prof Raju. This fly ash is very much useful to agriculture and Forests which has no ill effects on crops he said. Dr S Sudheer Kumar, Registrar PJTSAU has delivered the welcome address and he explained about the achievements and accomplishments of the PJTSAU in last five years. University is striving hard to provide better technologies to the door steps of the farmers though its Teaching, Research and Extension activities he said. Dr Vimal Kumar, Founder Mission Director, First Fly Ash Mission & Secretary General C-FARM, New Delhi has gave the overview of the two day conference. Dr D Ramarao, RK Kaushal were also spoke on this occasion. Several Scientists, officers from agricultural department,students were also present and participated in the deliberations held on various subjects. This two day National conference on use of Fly Ash in Agriculture and Forestry, other applications was organised jointly by PJTSAU and New Delhi based NGO, C-FARM.
