Celebration of National Librarian’s Day at College of Food Science and Technology, Rudrur on 12-08-2021

The programme National Librarian’s Day was celebrated at College of Food Science and Technology, Rudrur on 12.08.2021 in remembrance of national professor of library science, Dr S R Ranganathan (1892-1972), who had spearheaded library development in India. The Associate Dean, teaching, non-teaching, outsourcing staff and students were participated in the event. The programme was started with welcoming by Dr. R. Jayaprakash, Officer In-Charge of Student Activities. Dr. R. Swamy, Associate Dean, College of Food Science & Technology, Rudrur, headed the programme. The Associate Dean paid tributes by garland to Dr S R Ranganathan, followed by all the teaching, non-teaching, outsourcing staff and students of the college. After paying tributes, the teaching, non- teaching, out sourcing staff and students were given speech about Dr S R Ranganathan. The Associate Dean, CFST, Rudrur, has spoken over the occasion and addresses the students about National Librarian’s Day and services of Dr S R Ranganathan. He also explained about Knowledge Management Center, how to search a topic/ research articles in e-sources. He encouraged all the students to be responsible for each and every activity and work with commitment for their growth and presented the surprise gift to students, who visited the library frequently and maintaining the number of issuance of books.The programme was concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. R. Jayaprakash, Assistant Professor and OISA, CFST, Rudrur and acknowledged the speakers and participants. All the precautionary measures like maintaining physical distance, wearing mask and sanitizing the hands were followed during the programme due to COVID 19 pandemic.
