12th National Voters’ Day (NVD) observed at College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar on 25-01-2022

To encourage more young voters to take part in the political process, Government of India has decided to celebrate January 25 every year as "National Voters' Day". 12th National Voters’ Day (NVD) is observed by the NSS wing in College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, PJTSAU, Hyderabad on 25th January 2022. The programme is graced by Dr. C. Narendra Reddy, Associate Dean, explained about the importance of the Voters' Day, initiated in 2011 by the then President of India, Pratibha Devi Patil, on the 61st foundation day of the Election Commission of India or ECI, established on January 25, 1950. Sir has urged all of them to raise awareness of the importance of voting, especially among the newly eligible voters of the country, the main theme of ‘Making Our Voters Empowered, Vigilant, Safe and Informed.’ Dr. C. Narendra Reddy, Associate Dean, NSS Program Officers and all the staff pledged to uphold the democratic traditions of our country and the dignity of free, fair and peaceful elections, and to vote in every election fearlessly and without being influenced by considerations of religion, race, caste, community, language or any inducement.
