National Youth Festival celebrations at Agricultural College, Aswaraopet on 12th January, 2022

Agricultural College, Aswaraopet celebrated National Youth Festival on 12th January, 2022. The day cerebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, one of the most popular philosophers and thinkers of India to recognize his contributions to the Indian society. The Associate Dean Incharge, Dr.V.Venkanna, Associate Professor, Dept. of GPBR inaugurated the programme by garlanding photo frame of Swami Vivekananda and he has given a talk on the event. First he said theme of National Youth Festival of this year is that “It's all in the mind” and mentioned that the government of India first declared to celebrate the National Youth Day in 1984 to recognize and honour the teachings of Vivekananda, this is primarily because he was one of the most prominent leaders and influence the youth of India. Further, Dr. K. Gopala Krishnamurthy, Associate Professor, Dept. of GPBR has said that festival aims to shape the minds of India's youth and transform them into a united force for nation-building. He also added that National Youth Festival is celebrated across the nation at schools and colleges with several programmes including speeches, music, youth conventions, seminars, Yoga Asanas, presentations, competitions in essay-writing and sports every year. Later NSS PO Dr. Ramprasad has explained that the power of youth is the common wealth for the entire world. Smt. D. Sravanthi, NSS PO added that youth plays a vital role in the constructive process of building social cohesion, economic prosperity and political stability in a nation in an inclusive and democratic way. On the occasion of National Youth Festival, NSS unit of the college conducted Elocution, Essay writing and Debate competitions to the NSS volunteers and declared the winners in the same programme. The NSS volunteers, teaching faculty, non-teaching staff and workers were also participated the programme celebrated in college by following COVID -19 precautionary measures. In addition to that all the registered NSS volunteers (259) participated in National Youth Festival celebrated at Pondicherry through virtual mode with the following link (https://nyf2022.org) shared by Associate Dean of the college.
