Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bellampalli, Mancherial conducted training cum awareness programme as a part of POSHAN MAAH on 25.09.2020 at Pangidi Madara village of Thiryani mandal, Kumrubheem Asifabad (Aspirational district). Dr. M. Rajeshwar Naik, Programme Coordinator, Senior Scientist & Head, KVK, Bellampalli, Mancherial explained in detail about Nutrients and their role in human diet and availability of nutrition sources in different fruits and vegetables also about the importance of nutrition for healthy life besides immunity development and also briefed about the application of fertilizers depending upon the soil testing and INM. In this awareness programme, Dr. Shivakrishna Kota, SMS (Agricultural Extension) explained about the formation of FPOs and thereby enhancing the benefits of the farming community through NABARD. Smt. U. Sravanthi, SMS (Horticulture) explained in detail about the significance of kitchen gardening, kitchen garden demo in front of their houses and backyard with a model demo, importance of pandal farming in vegetable crops and explained about the different training and pruning practices in mango and guava plants. As a part of POSHAN MAAH, distributed Jowar (SVT-68 & M-35-1) minikits for yasangi season to the tribal farmers of the village and visited the mango fields which were distributed under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP). In this programme, Sri A. Shekar, Senior Project Coordinator (Horticultre), Sri J. Kailash, Sri Harikrishna and Sri Somu, Field Staff NABARD, Sri Keshav Rao, MPTC Thiryani Mandal, and 32 No. of farmers (21 men and 11 women) were participated.
