Orientation to the first year B,Sc (Hons.) 2023-24 batch students was organized at Agricultural College, Adilabad on 16.11.2023. At the outset, the Officer Incharge Academic Matters (OIAM), Dr.K.Bhanu Rekha invited the Associate Dean, Dr. Sreedhar Chauhan, Teaching staff; Dr. M. Suresh, Assistant Professor Department of Soil Science, Dr. M.Sunil SMS, Horticulture, KVK, Adilabad, Dr. G.Shiva Charan, SMS Agril. Extension, KVK, Adilabad and Office Superintendent Sri. M. Narender on to the dias. It was followed by a brief welcome address by the Associate Dean, Dr. Sreedhar Chauhan. He congratulated the students for securing admission at Ag. College Adilabad and emphasized the importance of Agriculture in food and nutritional security apart from the role in economic development of India. Further, he also highlighted on the advantage of the sister institutes located in the campus (ARS and KVK) and the support of the scientific staff from these Institutes in extending the facilities for establishment of the College apart from active role in teaching. It was followed by address of the Officer Incharge Academic Matters (OIAM), Dr.K.Bhanu Rekha. She gave an overview of the B.Sc (Hons.) Ag Course, UG Academic regulations(courses offered, Semester system, Credit hours, Practicals, Theory classes, Attendance, GPA, examination pattern, evaluation and Promotions etc;). Further she highlighted about the opportunities for higher education (Ag and Allied fields in India and Abroad) apart from jobs in Ag and Management sector after completion of the graduation and higher education. It was followed by a brief overview of the courses offered by the respective teaching staff (Dr. M. Suresh, Assistant Professor Department of Soil Science, Dr. Sunil SMS, Horticulture, KVK, Adilabad, Dr. Shiva Charan, SMS Agril. Extension, KVK, Adilabad). It was followed by lively interaction session by the students and parents regarding scholarships, study material and hostel rules. The respective details were given by Office Superintendent Sri. M. Narender, Academic Incharge Dr.K.Bhanu Rekha and Chief Warden, Dr. Sreedhar Chauhan. The programme ended with vote of thanks presented by the Officer Incharge Academic Matters (OIAM), Dr.K.Bhanu Rekha.
