Orientation Programme Organized for B. Sc. (Hons.) Ag. I year 2024-25 Batch students at Agricultural College, Adilabad on 02.12.2024

Orientation to the first year B,Sc (Hons.) 2024-25 batch students was organized at Agricultural College, Adilabad on 02.12.2024. At the outset, the Officer Incharge Student Activities Dr. M. Suresh invited Dr. Sreedhar Chauhan, Associate Dean, Teaching staff; Dr. B. Rajeswari, Professor (Pl. Path.), Dr. K. Bhanu Rekha, Professor (Agro.) and Dr. G. Anitha, Assoc. Professor (Ento.) on to the Dias. It was followed by a brief Welcome address by Dr. M. Suresh, OISA. After that a brief address was delivered by Dr. Sreedhar Chauhan, Associate Dean. He congratulated the students for securing admission at Ag. College, Adilabad and emphasized the importance of Agriculture in food and nutritional security apart from the role in economic development of India. Further, he also highlighted on the advantage of the sister institutes located in the campus (ARS and KVK) and the support of the scientific staff from these Institutes in extending the facilities for establishment of the College apart from active role in Teaching. It was followed by Power Point Presentation by Dr. K. Bhanu Rekha, Officer Incharge Academic Matters (OIAM). She gave an overview of the B. Sc. (Hons.) Ag. Course, UG Academic regulations (Courses offered, Semester system, Credit hours, Practicals, Theory classes, Attendance, GPA, examination pattern, evaluation and Promotions etc;). Further she highlighted about the opportunities for higher education (Agriculture and Allied fields in India and Abroad) apart from jobs in Agriculture and Management sector after completion of the graduation and higher education. Later, Dr. G. Anitha, Assoc. Professor (Ento.) & Warden (Girls Hostel) discussed regarding Hostel facilities for girl students and rules and regulations for boarders. It was followed by the address on Importance of Agricultural course by Dr. B. Rajeswari, Professor (Pl. Path.). The programme was concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Dr. M. Suresh, OISA, Ag. College, Adilabad.
