The orientation programme for the newly admitted PG students of 2019-20 was conducted in the Auditorium of College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar on 13th Spemtember,2019. About 141 students of M.Sc. (Ag) , 39 students of Ph.D. from agriculture stream and 16 M.Sc and 4 Ph.D. from Community Science stream joined this year. The programme started with a brief introduction by the Associate Dean, Dr.Seema followed by the address by the Dean of PG studies, Dr.K.V.S.MeenaKumari. She emphasized on the improvement in the quality of the research work and various facilities available at the campus. The Chief Guest of the programme, Dr.V.Praveen Rao, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, PJTSAU addressed the students. He encouraged them to obtain degrees from different universities and get a wider exposure. He suggested the students to choose their research work which is of societal relevance. He also asked them to identify the research gaps and explore new areas of research in nanotechnology, artificial intelligence etc. He also emphasized on the facility of Central Instrumentation Cell, wherein students can work for late hours to carry out the analysis. The Vice Chancellor announced the setting up of the pilot centres on oil extraction unit, dal mill, bakery unit etc. The guidelines, rules and regulations of PG programme was presented in detail by Dr. V. Hemalatha, PG Academic In-charge followed by the vote of thanks.The programme was attended by the Members, Board of Management, Heads of Department and Department PG-incharges.
