Field day of Paddy Minikit JGL 28545 and pre yasangi awareness programme conducted by RARS, Jagtial on 09-11-2020

Regional Agricultural research station, Jagtial conducted field day of paddy 2nd year minikit variety JGL 28545 and pre yasangi awareness programme at adopted village, Veldhurthy on 09.11.2020 . Smt.P. Sadvi, i/c village adoption organized the programme. In this programme, Dr. B. Srinivas highlighted the characteristics of the minikit variety JGL 28545 and created awareness among the farmers on paddy varieties to be cultivated and cold management measures to be taken during this yasangi season. While interacting, the farmers said that the minikit variety JGL 28545 fared better than BPT 5204 , a common variety in this area. In addition to good yielding character , JGL 28545 withstood the seasonal pest and diseases. A good response from the farmers was noticed coming forward to cultivate the new Paddy variety. Dr. P. Madhukar, explained about the cultivation of mustard. He said that crop can be sown from October 15 to November 15 and crop duration is from 100-125 days and yields 6-8 q/acre and also enlightened about the control measures for Aphid incidence and powdery mildew in mustard. In this programme, Burra Praveen goud , Sarpanch, adopted village and farmers participated.
