Parthenium Awareness Week at RARS, Palem on 17.08.2023

RARS, Palem in collaboration with AICRP on Weed Management, Rajendranagar has organized an awaremess programme on Parthenium eradication at RARS, Palem campus on 17.08.2023. Dr.M.Malla Reddy, Associate Director of Research, RARS, Palem has highlighted the importance of timely removal of parthenium. Dr.B.Padmaja, Principal Scientist (Agronomy), AICRP on Weed Management, Rajendranagar explained about the ill effects of parthenium on crop, human and animals and different methods of parthenium management. Dr.S.Vanisri, Principal Scientist (Oilseeds), also spoke on practical implications of parthenium in household premises and crops. Scientific staff from RARS, Palem, teaching faculty and students from Agricultural College, Palem, APT, Palem have participated and spoke on parthenium and its ill effects. Later, oath was taken by all the participants on timely removal of parthenium plants wherever found which was followed by removal of parthenium plants at RARS, Palem premises.
