Conducted “Participatory Rural Appraisal” at Adopted Village, Veldhurthy by RARS, Polasa, Jagtial on 02-11-2020

Regional Agricultural Research station, Polasa, Jagtial conducted Participatory Rural appraisal technique in the adopted village. It is conducted for identifying the problems for prioritization in the village itself and for establishing rapport with the villagers. It is a process of involving local people in analysis and interpretation of their own situation in their rural area. Scientist (Extension)& i/c Village adoption, P. Sadvi organized the programme and facilitated the villagers in mapping of the PRA. In this technique farmers depicted the social and resource map. Through this villagers and officials got an impression about village setting, physical layout, location of various institutions, houses and also particularly studied problems and opportunities of villagers. A venn diagram was shown by taking the villagers opinion on relationship of key institutions, individuals and organizations with them. It is represented through circles and lines. The size of circle represents the importance, significance or power of that institution. Lines represent the distance of the institution/individual from the village. The PRA is conducted by involving all categories of villagers, farmers, women self groups, public representatives and Government officials.
