Phone-In Programme at ARS, Tornala on 10-06-2021

A phone-in programme was organized by ARS, Tornala in collaboration with Sakshi Newspaper, Siddipet on 10-06-2021 at ARS, Tornala. In this programme, several farmers from different mandals of Siddipet, Medak and Karminagar districts, posed different queries on six major crops (paddy, redgram, cotton, maize, mulberry and Oilpalm). The topics related to queries were selection of crops, varieties/hybrids of different crops, seed treatment, direct seeded rice cultivation, weed management through herbicides, management of problematic soils, pests and diseases management, raising and incorporation of green manure crops (greengram, dhaincha and sunhemp) preceding to rice, mulberry and oilpalm cultivation. All the queries were answered by the scientists of ARS, Tornala. Further, the information regarding seed availability in ARS, Tornala (Paddy : RNR-15048, JGL-24423 and Redgram : WRGE-93) was also provided to the farmers during interaction. In this programme, Dr. A.V. Ramanjaneyulu, Sr. Scientist (Agro) & Head, Dr. N. Sainath, Scientist (SSAC), Dr. D. Swetha, Scientist (Agro) and Mrs. A. Saritha, Scientist (Pl. Br.) from ARS, Tornala have participated. It was coordinated by Mr. Venkatesh and Mr. Raju from Sakshi Newspaper, Siddipet.
