The four days IXth Inter-Collegiate Sports and Games meet 2024-25 of Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University has started at College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar at University sports complex. Dr. Jella Satyanarayana, the Dean of Student Affairs, also Dean Agriculture and Agril. Engineering was the chief guest of the inaugural event. On the occasion the chief guest has addressed the gathering and informed the students that, sports and games meet shall fosters sports man spirit and accelerates networking amongst the students which will help in their latter part of the life. The meet also gives an opportunity to select the best talents at the University level to represent the university at ICAR Inter university sports meet to be conducted shortly and hence requested the students to bestow interest at all levels. He appreciated the ADs, OISAs and PDs of respective colleges for mentoring the students so as to enable them to be part of the sports meet. Dr V. Viajyalakshmi, Dean of Community Science while addressing the gathering has appreciated the efforts of the respective team contingents for taking effective participation in the sports meet. Sri D. Shivaji, Registrar, PJTAU during the inaugural address has emphasized the importance of the sports to the students for ensuring good physical and mental health. He also mentioned that, participation in such events will improve the leadership qualities amongst the students. Dr. C. Narendra Reddy, the Associate Dean, College of agriculture Rajendranagar and hon’ble Member, Board of Management, PJTAU gave the welcome address and informed the gathering that participation in such events shall orient the students to improve the overall personality development of the students. Dr. J. Suresh, the University observer and HOD, Physical Education Department while addressing during the event has informed that, the IXth Intercollegiate Sports and Games Meet for four days with 415 Students where the event is scheduled for 10 events to the boys and 9 for girls will bring sportsmanship amongst the students and make them resilient during the ups and downs of the life. Dr. P. Prashanth, OISA, College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar has proposed formal vote of thanks during the inaugural event. The event was followed by march of the respective contingents and declaration of the sports by the chief guest. The chief guest has also interacted with the contingent teams during the event. PDs, OISAs and about 415 students from 11 constituent colleges, faculty and non-teaching staff of COA, Rajendranagar were present during the occasion.
