Prof. Aldas Janaiah assumed charge as Vice Chancellor, PJTAU on 19.10.2024

Prof. Aldas Janaiah assumed the office of Vice-Chancellor, Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University (PJTAU) on 19.10.2024 at the Administrative Building, Rajendranagar. Prof. Aldas Janaiah was born in 1964 and is the native of Mamidala Village, Thipparthi Mandal of Nalgonda District. He is a Doctorate in Agricultural Economics. Prof. Aldas Janaiah so far held 15 portfolios of which four are in reputed International Agricultural Organizations and was recognized with best Scientist Award at International Rice Research Institute, IRRI, Manila, Philippines. He rendered six years of service as an Economist at IRRI, Philippines and Asian Development Bank. He served for 16 years as Senior Economist in ICAR. He has also discharged duties in several capacities for 16 years as Professor, Head of the Department, Associate Dean, Member, Board of Management, etc., in the Agricultural University. Prof. Aldas Janaiah took the charge from Sri. M. Raghunandan Rao, IAS, APC & Principal Secretary of Govt. of Telangana. On this occasion, Prof. Aldas Janaiah interacted with University Officers and opined that every position is a responsibility rather than an authority.
