The 76th year of Independence was celebrated on 15th August, 2023 at College of Community Science, Saifabad, Hyderabad by 9.00 a.m. Dr.V.Vijayalakshmi formally welcomed chief guest, teaching, non teaching staff, students, lab Nursery school children and their parents. All the staff and students paid floral tributes to our national leader Sri Mahathma Gandhiji. Soon after, National flag was hoisted by the chief guest Mrs. Shyam Sundari Regional Joint Director (Rtd.), Department of Women Development and Child Welfare, Hyderabad. Then UG students gave inspirational talk in English, Telugu and Hindi languages. After that Lab nursery children of Human Development and Family Studies performed fancy dress show representing our freedom fighters. Later the chief guest addressed the gathering. She orientated about the status of India before Independence and after Independence, Role of youth for sustainable development, combating gender inequalities in rural areas etc., and role of youth in preserving heritage of Indian culture specially Telangana state. She urged everyone to take a pledge to do everything possible to make great contributions towards the nation and to the Institute. Cultural program followed where UG second year student sung a patriotic song, post which UG and PG students performed dances. All the staff and students did Panch Pran Pledge on the eve of Meri Maati Mera Desh, Ministry of Youth affairs with the tagline Mitti monaman, Veeran ka vandan. Dr.P.Sreedevi, OSA coordinated and organised overall program and sucessfully complted the events as per the schedule.
