Celebration of PJTSAU - 7th Foundation Day at Agricultural Research Station and at Adopted village, Perkapally of Saidapur mandal Karimnagar district on 03-09-2021

The PJTSAU - 7th Foundation Day was grandly celebrated at ARS, Karimnagar premises by involving all the staff, DAATTC centre and farmers by garlanding the Prof. Jayashankar photo. On this occasion, Dr.G.Manjulatha, Principal Scientist(Agro) & Head, addressed the staff and stated the significant progress made by the University in research, teaching and extension services for the welfare of the farming community and in shaping the Agri students. Harithaharam programme has been undertaken at ARS, Karimnagar office premises by planting 35 mango saplings involving all the teaching, non-teaching staff, TSL and contract workers. Later, proceeded to adopted village Perkapally of Saidapur Mandal and organized the meeting with the farmers of adopted village. Dr.G.Usharani, Scientist (Pl.Br.) and Adopted Village incharge welcomed the farmers and dignitaries on to the dais. Dr.G.Manjulatha, Principal Scientist (Agro.) and Head chaired the session and detailed the importance of the day, activities of the University, establishment of Agri hub and the main motto behind the University to support the farmer well being in all means and sensitized the farmers to have a shift in their cropping pattern with a hope to enhance the oilseed area in the village. Awareness on alternate wetting and drying (AWD) in paddy to sensitize the farmers on better water management practices and to reduce water use in paddy was explained by Sri K.Shekar DAATTC Coordinator, Karimnagar. Sri B.Komuraiah, Village Sarpanch Perkapally again emphasized on implementation of AWD in the village. Sri Shankariaah, Farmer expressed his satisfaction in gaining knowledge on drum seeder technology demonstrated during last rabi season. Smt Saravva has been honored and felicitated for her untiring efforts in cultivation of 5 acres of her field solely with drum seeder and for being an exemplary for others. Eventually, critical input distribution of seasamum seed to the farmers was taken up. Later, live telecast of the proceedings of the 7th PJTSAU foundation day was made to the farmers of adopted village. Around (50) farmers participated in the programme.
