Celebrations of 8th University Foundation Day by APT, ARS and DAATTC, Tornala on 03-09-2021 at Tornala village, Siddipet Rural Mandal, Siddipet district

Eighth University Foundation Day was celebrated by APT, ARS and DAATTC, Tornala on 03.09.2021 at Tornala village, Siddipet Rural Mandal, Siddipet district by conducting Farmer-Scientist-Student interaction meet on best management practices in Agriculture. The programme was started with the welcome address by Dr. N. Sainath, Scientist, ARS, Tornala, later by offering floral tributes to the Professor Kothapalli Jayashankar by Dr. E. Srinivas, Professor, APT, Tornala and all the staff of ARS, APT, DAATTC, Tornala along with the farmers followed with playing of University Song. Later, as part of farmer-student–scientist interaction session on Best Management Practices in Agriculture Dr. N. Sainath, Scientist has spoken about fertilizer management in kharif crops, Dr. D. Swetha, Scientist on oilseed crop production in kharif crops, Dr. Ch. Pallavi, Scientist on weed management in kharif crops, Sri. A. Sathish, Asst. Professor on water management in crops and cropping systems, Dr. E. Uma Rani, Scientist on paddy seed production-problems and prospects and Smt. A. Saritha on Pulses seed production- problems and prospects. Dr. E. Srinivas, Professor has addressed the gathering and highlighted the key achievements of the university in the past 8 years from the formation of agricultural university and further congratulated APT, Tornala for achieving best polytechnic award, Sri. M. Sekhar, AEO, ARS, Tornala for being awarded as best AEO of the year, Sri. K. Ramesh, farmer, Vadloor (V), Bejjenki (M), Siddipet district for being awarded as PJTSAU best progressive farmer and CRI pump best farmer under farm mechanization. Sri. Y. Devaiah, Sarpanch has appreciated the efforts of APT, ARS and DAATTC, Tornala together for the benefit of the farming community and in shaping the Agri students and further congratulated for the awards. On this occasion, APT, Tornala students have conducted “Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA)” with social map, time line, wealth ranking map and venn diagram at Tornala village duly involving the farmers. All the teaching, non-teaching, outsourcing staff, 42 APT students, Sri. S. Yadagiri, Vice MPP, Sharath Chandra, Area sales manager, New Holland company and 59 farmers of the village have participated in the programme. Finally, the programme was concluded with vote of thanks by Sri. A. Sathish, Asst. Professor, APT, Tornala.
